Hopenhagen You Have a Bright Holiday

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

The cyclists in Copenhagen are pedaling away to light their city’s tree this year.  Instead of spending money and grid power to light the tree, anyone in the city is welcome to come down and help keep the lights on. Burn calories and help the city keep 9 tons of CO2 out of the atmosphere. We think its a great excuse to have a few extra cookies, too.

Thursday, July 2nd, 2009

Thank goodness it is time for the 2009 (International) Bicycle Film Festival! There are more great shows than ever this year. Dero will again sponsor bike parking at the Minneapolis location. Staff can’t wait to see The Triplets of Bellville on opening night at the Riverview.  Go out and enjoy great bike films and support this fantastic bike cultural event! Below is the trailer to “Where Are You Go.” More info on this year’s BFF here.

The biggest bike parking facility in the Americas is in…

Brazil?! Surprised? We were a little bit, too. But, ASCOBike is the real deal with over 1,700 bikes parked daily in Sao Paulo where the streets and infrastructure are not quite what many would consider bike friendly. Now, we just need to figure out how to get these numbers for high-density, bike parking in all major US cities… Thanks to Streetfilms for this fantastic video!

More amazing bike parking from Japan

Dero may be years or more away from attempting robotic bike parking, but it sure looks cool. We are a little afraid to see the per bike price tag on this baby.
