Important Information for Bike Rack Revit Downloads

 

The Dero families have been embedded with schedulable information that allows them to provide information about the bicycle racks in your family. There are a couple of methods to using these features. It is recommended that you consult your Revit Cad Manager.

  1. [GOOD] You can use the families as is. They will schedule in any project they are loaded into.

  1. [BETTER] Open up a Dero bicycle rack family.
    1. Select Family Types in the design bar
    2. Highlight either Dero Finishes, Dero Parkable Bikes, Dero Recycled Content, or Dero Weight (In Lbs).
    3. Select Modify under Parameters.
    4. Select Export and then hit Okay.
    5. Repeat for the other three parameters.
    6. This will load the parameters under the group Exported Parameters
    7. All set!

  1. [BEST] Open up any Revit family (a blank template is fine).
    1. Go to Family Types in the design bar.
    2. Under Parameters click add.
    3. Select shared parameters, click select. (A Shared Parameters file may need to be created)
    4. Click edit, under groups select new.
    5. Call the new group Dero Bike Racks
    6. Under parameters click new.
    7. Name it Dero Finishes Make it common and material.
    8. Click Ok. Under parameters click new.
    9. Name it Dero Parkable Bikes Make it common and integer.
    10. Click Ok. Under Parameters click new.
    11. Name it Dero Recycled Content Make it common and text.
    12. Click Ok. Under Parameters click new.
    13. Name it Dero Weight (In Lbs) Make it common and number.
    14. Click Ok until out of the menus. Done. These parameters are now easily accessible. This only needs to be done once to cover all Dero bicycle rack families.

Dero bicycle rack families will also load standard materials that are render ready. Materials can be changed with instance parameters within each family’s type properties.

Dero Ad Rack includes a material that must be remapped on your computer. Put the image file where it can be accessed. In the Materials select Dero Ad Rack Sign and under Render Appearance locate the AD_RACK_AD.jpg wherever you decided to put it. Otherwise the sign will render as black. This image can be edited to display a custom sign.

Dero bicycle rack families are created as site components. Creating a site schedule will allow them to be scheduled so that they automatically schedule finishes, number of parkable bikes, and type of racks among other possibilities. Revit Help menu instructions will assist you in creating a schedule that meets your needs.

Dero bicycle rack families are provided as a service to customers of Dero. No warranties are expressed or implied with regards to the Revit families. All specifications should be verified with Dero. Written specifications and other information provided specifically by Dero shall take precedence over what is found in the Revit families. Altering in any way the Revit families may cause significant discrepancies between actual Dero products and Dero Revit families. Dero customers are encouraged to check the Dero website for updated families to avoid outdated information.
