Meet our Outside Reps: Ben Cramer (New York City)

At Dero we pride ourselves at knowing bicycle parking, inside and out. A large part of that is hiring passionate people who ride bikes in their daily lives and understand the importance of secure bicycle storage. Throughout 2018 we want to showcase our regional experts so you can get to know the person who is designing that awesome bike room for you.

How long have you been with Dero?

Since November, 2008.

What regions do you serve?

Greater New York City, Greater Philadelphia, New Jersey, Southern Connecticut

What is your favorite local bike path to ride?

The 1st Avenue bike path is “parking” protected. It takes me from the Manhattan Bridge to Dero NYC, through the East Village with its tons of great shops and restaurants. Regular stop-overs on my commute: Mudspot coffee, Black Seed Bagels (where my pal rolls the dough), Tompkins Square Park.

Do you have a favorite bicycle memory or story?

My favorite bicycling memory was participating in L’Eroica in Tuscany in 2012. A beautiful tour through over the white roads of Tuscany with people from all over the world riding antique bikes and dressed like Fausto Coppi.

Why do you enjoy keeping people’s bicycles safe/working at Dero?

In New York City, our streets are ever safer thanks to progressive transportation policies over the last 10 years. As a true believer in bicycle infrastructure as a key aspect of safe, green transit in and around NYC, I take a ton of pride in helping to provide some of that infrastructure in the form of secure bike parking. I love Dero for its commitment to the same and for all of the people I know and love who work there.
