Best Trails for Fall Color

Everyone loves a splash of fall colors, especially us cyclists looking for a good outdoor adventure. In celebration of the season, we decided to compile our favorite trails for fall color adventuring around the country!

Central US:

Kentucky Bourbon Trail, Lexington KY: This trail packs a powerful 2-for-1 combo with scenic sights in the Kentucky countryside as well as passing through a long list of historic whiskey breweries so you can snag a beverage to enjoy the colors with.

East Coast:

Swamp Rabbit Trail, Greenville SC: This trail serves as a community hub for a whole series of trails that lie in the shadow of John Denver’s famously cited Blue Ridge mountains. There’ll be no shortage of colors or mountain majesty on this ride!

West Coast:

Eastern Sierra, Mammoth CA: Despite its base altitude of 7,600 ft. this trail is a low effort stroll through the autumn blaze! For those looking for a relaxing and refreshing ride on the west coast, this trip can’t be beaten.

Northland Country:

Bethel Evans Notch, Bethel Maine: This ride offers stunning color and an array of options for any level of cyclists looking to chase the seasonal colors. Whether you try the 14-mile loop or the 67-mile trek, all of these trails will wow you with mountain views (The White Mountains) and crimson color.

The Local Route:

Minnesota Valley State Trail, Shakopee MN: Located in the south-east of Minnesota, this route is a seasonal gem. Stretching from as far as Jordan to St. Paul this scenic route showcases all the fall glory as it snakes its way along the Minnesota River.

National Bike Month: Everything you Need to Know

May is National Bike Month and is a period of time when we celebrate all things bikes including Bike to Work Week and Bike to Work Day. As an industry leader in Bike Parking, we are sharing all the best ways to celebrate!

National Bike Month was initially recognized to reflect on the benefits of cycling daily and the various ways in which it can improve our lives. Anything from commuting, regular exercise or simply finding a new way to visit your favorite local stops are all great ways to partake in the festivities.

Here’s a list of our favorite ways to celebrate the season that is National Bike Month:

  • Try getting out and biking somewhere close you would normally drive! It’s a great way to get active and help the planet at the same time.
  • Bike with friends. Any activity is more fun with a group. See if any of your regular crowd is interested in hitting the trials for an afternoon on wheels!
  • Be sure not to miss our upcoming webinars on bike parking! Lunch Brake: What to Know About Short-Term Bike Parking is launching May 2nd and Don’t Fear Commitment: Successful Long-Term Bike Parking will follow shortly after launching May 16th!
  • Go on a Tour de Cuisine. Restaurants are gearing up for outdoor seating season and drinks on the patio feel so much more satisfying when you arrive via bike! If you’re lucky you might even find a Dero Parklet stylized to fit the unique vibe and streetscape of your favorite shop.
  • Engage with National Bike to Work Week by commuting to your place of employment. Even if you don’t want to commit to a full week of bike commuting, just one day can make a big difference and you might be surprised how gratifying the experience is!
  • Learn about your local bike resources! There is a massive network of bike advocacy groups, trail maintenance volunteers and online bike resources that are just waiting to be discovered.
  • Check out our map of Fixit Stations. Be prepared in case you need to do a DIY bike repair while you’re on the road.

Whether you choose to try out one or all of these methods of celebration, we’re excited to have you on board and look forward to celebrating alongside you!
